Open Competition for the Position of Assistant Professor (Research and Teaching) in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Application deadline: 7 August 2026 The Rector of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences announces an open competition for the position of Assistant Professor (all genders welcome) in the group of research and teaching staff in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Division of Pharmacology. Job Description: The successful candidate will be expected to: conduct research activities in the field of Veterinary Sciences, within the discipline of Veterinary Medicine, including securing external funding for research projects; prepare and deliver teaching in the fields of pharmacy and veterinary pharmacology in both Polish and English; disseminate research findings through publications in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus and/or Web of Science databases; participate in national and international scientific conferences and symposia; participate in workshops and training courses aimed at enhancing professional competencies; contribute to organisational and administrative activities within the Department and the University; undertake other duties assigned by the head of the organisational unit in accordance with the profile and mission of the Department and the University. Requirements for the candidate: holds at least a doctoral degree (PhD) in Veterinary Sciences or Natural Sciences; holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine and possesses a valid licence to practise as a veterinarian; has teaching experience at the academic level in the field of veterinary sciences; has research experience in conducting experimental studies using modern immunological techniques, cell culture methods, and molecular biology techniques; has a scientific publication record in journals indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science; demonstrates willingness to enhance professional competencies through international research placements, as well as participation in conferences and training activities; has proficiency in spoken and written Polish; has English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); fulfils the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, namely: enjoys full public rights; has full legal capacity; has not been convicted by a final court judgment for an intentional criminal offence or an intentional fiscal offence; has not been subject to the disciplinary penalty of dismissal from employment at a higher education institution with a ban on employment in higher education institutions for a period of 6 months to 5 years, nor deprivation of the right to work as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years. We Offer full-time employment under a fixed-term contract until 28 February 2029 ; remuneration consisting of: a base salary of not less than PLN 8,211 gross per month ; a seniority allowance of 3–20% ; an additional annual salary payment (the so-called 13th salary ); holiday subsidies; and other variable remuneration components in accordance with the remuneration regulations of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences; an attractive and stimulating scientific environment; work within a team equipped with strong experimental facilities and engaged in innovative and contemporary research topics, providing opportunities for professional development and international collaboration.
