As post-doctoral researcher, you will work in the frame of the SUPHA project funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) through the TREK research program. SUPHA goal is to develop and optimise a membrane‑based process that recovers humic substances directly from anaerobic digestate. The postdoctoral researcher will drive the scale-up of an innovative membrane-based process for the extraction and valorisation of humic substances from digestate, advancing the technology from bench to pilot scale (TRL 4–5). The work encompasses three main areas: (1) process optimisation, using AI-assisted experimental design to identify optimal operating conditions and maximise product yield while minimising costs; (2) product development and quality benchmarking, characterising the produced fractions against commercial standards and working with industrial stakeholders to define market-ready product specifications; and (3) scale-up preparation, including bottleneck analysis and a techno-economic assessment to establish the roadmap for industrial implementation.
