Open Competition for the Position of Assistant Professor in the Group of Teaching Staff at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Department of Geoinformatics and Artificial Intelligence Application deadline: 7 August 2026 The Rector of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences announces an open competition for the position of Assistant Professor (all genders welcome) in the group of teaching staff at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Department of Geoinformatics and Artificial Intelligence. Job Description: Preparing and delivering courses in the fields of geoinformatics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in geoinformatics in both Polish and English; Acquiring external funding for educational projects; Participation in scientific conferences and symposia (national and international); Participation in workshops and training courses aimed at improving professional competencies; Participation in organizational activities for the benefit of the department and the university; Other duties assigned by the head of the organizational unit, arising from the profile and nature of the unit and the university. Requirements for the candidate: Holds at least a doctoral degree (PhD) in technical sciences or engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Geodesy and Transport, Information and Communication Technology, Telecommunications, or related fields; Has documented teaching experience at the academic level or professional experience in delivering lectures and laboratory classes in the areas of programming (C/C++ and Python), applications of artificial intelligence, or applications of machine learning; Has documented experience in applying machine learning methods and/or artificial intelligence methods; Has proficiency in spoken and written Polish; Has English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2; Meets the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science, namely: enjoys full public rights; has full legal capacity; has not been convicted by a final court judgment for an intentional criminal offence or an intentional fiscal offence; has not been subject to the disciplinary penalty of dismissal from employment at a higher education institution with a ban on employment at higher education institutions for a period of 6 months to 5 years, or deprivation of the right to work as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
