In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Science of Charles University announces a competitive hiring process with a deadline for applications October 31, 2026 This is a researcher position (VP2). We offer the opportunity to establish a research group that will be based in a Joint laboratory, shared by the Faculty of Science and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. A generous, negotiable starting package that includes laboratory and office space, investments in the necessary equipment, consumables, and salaries for several coworkers/students. The candidate will also have access to a fully equipped BSL3 laboratory, and projects utilizing this facility are expected to be a central focus of the research. Qualifications Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, international postdoc experience in virology  Expertise in various aspects of infectious virology  Experience with related experimental techniques.  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English  Independence, accountability, and reliability  Communication and management skills  Experience with student leadership Expertise Virology with an emphasis on infectious virology.
