The Department of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Bioanalytics and Agro-Metabolomics, is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Extent of employment: 40 hours per week Duration of employment: 1st of August 2026 - permanent Workplace: 3430 Tulln an der Donau Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 5.014,30 (payable 14 times per year) Responsibilities Acquisition and management of research projects, particularly in the field of mycotoxin research Delivery and organization of university courses and teaching activities Planning, coordination, and execution of analytical work in the areas of mycotoxin research and metabolomics Establishment, optimization, and validation of analytical methods, particularly mass spectrometry-based techniques (LC-MS/MS, HRMS) for targeted and untargeted metabolomics Responsibility for project staff as their direct supervisor (Co-)supervision, training, and scientific guidance of research staff, PhD candidates, and students Preparation of applications for animal experimentation Coordination of collaborations with national and international academic partners as well as industrial project partners Analysis and interpretation of analytical data Preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations for national and international conferences Responsibility for liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instrumentation Participation in academic self-governance at BOKU University (e.g., committees, commissions, or governing bodies) Required skills and qualifications Doctorate degree / PhD in chemistry or related field Language skills: English and German (both C1 level) Desired skills and qualifications Successful acquisition of third-party (external) research funding is an advantage Demonstrated expertise in mycotoxin research and/or metabolomics and/or biomarker development Experience with both targeted and untargeted metabolomics using LC-MS/MS and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) Knowledge of experimental design, quality management, and validation of analytical methods Experience operating liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instruments from different manufacturers Experience in the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets using statistical methods Teaching experience in analytical chemistry University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna seeks to increase the number of its female faculty and staff members.
