UNIVERSITY OF SPLIT FACULTY OF SCIENCE invites applications for JOB VACANCY for the appointment of one researcher to the position of Senior Research Assistant, in the scientific area of Natural Sciences, scientific field of Physics, to work on the Croatian Science Foundation project “Fragility of Photosynthesis in the Sea Due to Climate Change” (HRZZ-IP-2022-10-8859) , on a fixed-term basis. Requirements: – PhD degree in the field of Natural Sciences Additional criteria: – published scientific publications – previous teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate university or professional study programmes is desirable – participation in scientific research projects – preferred research area: satellite oceanography – experience in numerical modelling, data processing and machine learning is desirable – experience in the Python programming language is desirable Candidates applying for the position must, in addition to the requirements specified in this call, meet the general requirements prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (Official Gazette No. 119/2022) . Candidates are required to submit, together with their signed application: a curriculum vitae, a copy of their degree certificate, a decision on the recognition of a foreign higher education qualification for candidates who obtained their qualification abroad, a transcript of records including the grade point average, a motivation letter, proof of citizenship; foreign nationals are also required to submit proof of proficiency in the Croatian language (C2 – advanced level), as well as evidence of fulfilment of the other requirements and additional criteria. Candidates invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to special regulations must explicitly state this right in their application. Such candidates shall have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions as established by the call, and provided that their application is duly completed and submitted within the prescribed deadline. Candidates invoking the right of priority in employment pursuant to Articles 102 and 103 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members (Official Gazette Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23) must, in addition to evidence of fulfilment of the required conditions, submit all documents required under Article 103, paragraph 1.
