JOB TITLE: Network Detection & Security Engineer TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular Consultant, Level 2 UNIT/DIVISION: Information Security, Technology Division DUTY STATION (City, Country): Remote Work BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Under the general supervision of the Chief TECI and the direct supervision of the Lead the Threat Detection and Response, the incumbent will define policies, standards, telemetry requirements, detections, and governance for network and IoT security. The role focuses on shaping the design authority, telemetry architecture, and operational reporting required to stand up WFP’s Network Detection and Response capability across priority sites. The incumbent will develop IoT trust tiers, NAC posture and exception criteria, segmentation patterns for high value zones and DNS security baselines. They will specify telemetry and profiling requirements for SIEM, SOAR, XDR and the new NDR sensors and cloud taps, build detection packs and playbooks for network borne threats and manage approvals, fallbacks and audit trails through change governance to ensure the NDR rollout is properly supported and governed. ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Main responsibilities include, but not limited to: Validate and monitor network and IoT security policies covering device trust tiers, NAC posture, segmentation patterns, and DNS layer protection. Specify telemetry, profiling, and enrichment requirements for Detection & Response purposes, including asset identity, ownership, and criticality context. Develop and tune detection logic for lateral movement, C2, rogue devices, misconfigurations and other behaviors identified through the NDR rollout. Maintain governance for approvals, exception handling, fallbacks, and audit trails. Participate in change boards and production readiness reviews. Coordinate periodic IoT vulnerability scans, security controls, and firmware baseline reviews with TECM, ensuring findings are triaged, tickets raised, and remediation tracked to closure. Create da
