The Faculty of Medicine of the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Cooperative Brain Imaging Center (CoBIC),invites applications for the following position as civil servant or public employee starting as soon as possible: Professor (W3) of Computational Neuroscience and Neurodevelopment gefördert durch die Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete Stiftung Professorship Profile This professorship is being established within the framework of the Cooperative Brain Imaging Center (CoBIC), ajoint initiative founded in 2025 by Goethe University in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for EmpiricalAesthetics and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute for Neuroscience. As a unique scientific partnership in the field ofhuman neuroscience, the CoBIC is poised to generate new momentum in the discipline. The center offers a dynamic,research-intensive environment with diverse clinical and scientific opportunities, as well as a collegial and highlymotivated interdisciplinary team. The professorship is intended to strengthen the CoBIC’s methodological expertise,particularly in the area of translational neuroimaging, with the aim of advancing precision medicine in the context ofneuromental disorders. The research focus of the professorship will center on neurodevelopmental conditions, to beinvestigated in an interdisciplinary manner and in close collaboration with the Department of Child and AdolescentPsychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at University Hospital Frankfurt and the Autism Therapy CenterFrankfurt. The professorship will strengthen the research focus on neuroscience within the 'Science for Health' profilearea at Goethe University in the study of psychiatric disorders and will thus become an integral part of theInterdisciplinary Center for Neuroscience Frankfurt (IZNF) and the Rhine-Main Neuroscience Network (rmn²). Bothnetworks offer valuable resources and support for neuroscience in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region. The IZNFprovides an interdisciplinary perspective and dedicated research groups, while rmn² promotes broader internationalvisibility and collaboration. Both networks support the regional neuroscience community and provide access toextensive research opportunities in various areas of neuroscience. The professorship is expected to activelyparticipate in this neuroscience community and contribute to its further development. Your Profile We are seeking a candidate with a distinguished scientific track record in the neurobiology of neurodevelopmentaldisorders, with a particular focus on autism and ADHD, as well as extensive expertise in structural MRI, including thedevelopment of neuroimaging biomarkers. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding publication achievements intranslational and interdisciplinary neuroimaging, for instance in the fields of imaging genetics and imagingtranscriptomics. In addition, we expect a demonstrated record of leading involvement in national and internationalresearch projects – for example through participation in collaborative research programs and EU consortia – in orderto represent the CoBIC effectively at the national and international level. You should hold a completed universitydegree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field, alongside a relevant doctoral degree inone of these disciplines. Evidence of post-doctoral scientific qualification is required, either in the form of aHabilitation or equivalent scientific achievements, including an international publication record and successfulacquisition of third-party funding from distinguished public funding bodies such as the DFG or the European Union. Ahigh level of academic commitment and a constructive willingness to engage in close, interdisciplinary collaborationin both research and teaching are expected. We further expect teaching experience at the university level andexcellent didactic competence, ideally demonstrated through strong teaching evaluations.
