Pursuant to Article 119 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2022, item 574) and the Regulations for Conducting the Competition (constituting Appendix No. 6 to the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), I hereby announce a competition for the position of Assistant (in the research and teaching staff group) at the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. I. Candidates eligible to participate in the competition are those who meet the requirements set out in the Law on Higher Education and Science and submit a declaration stating that they: ● have not been subject to the disciplinary penalties referred to in Article 276, paragraph 1, points 7 and 8 of the Law on Higher Education and Science; ● possess full legal capacity; ● enjoy full public rights; ● have not been convicted by a final court judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal offense. II. Conditions for participation in the competition: ● holding a Master’s degree in the field of industrial design, design, new media, or related disciplines; ● a portfolio of design work in the areas of interaction design, product and digital service design, visual communication, or new media; ● research and teaching experience (experience in developing and expanding curricula—particularly in the areas of interaction design, user research, or prototyping—is welcome); ● proficiency in interface design and interactive prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Framer, or Adobe CC), knowledge of electronics basics and working with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) and/or AI-based tools, and programming fundamentals; ● familiarity with environments and tools used in interaction design and 3D modeling (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Fusion 360, SolidWorks) or AI-based tools; ● English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level; ● experience in teamwork and the ability to organize educational and design processes, including the timely completion of assigned tasks, preparation of educational documentation, and organizational collaboration. III. Required documents: ● Application for participation in the competition ● Design and research CV containing: – a list of completed, implemented, or ongoing projects, with particular emphasis on projects in the fields of interaction design, service and digital product design, visual communication, and new media; – information on participation in research projects (experience in preparing grant applications or co-creating research projects); – information on participation in competitions, exhibitions, conferences, symposia, and workshops; – a list of awards and distinctions received in the field of design; – a list of articles and publications; – information on organizational, outreach, or training activities related to design; – information on collaboration with significant business entities, social organizations, or foundations; – other information the candidate deems relevant to the recruitment process, ● Information on previous teaching experience ● Portfolio in electronic format, containing documentation of design, research, and teaching achievements, with particular emphasis on interactive projects, prototypes, workshop activities, and team-based projects; ● Copy of diploma – Master’s degree in design, new media, or related fields. ● Certificates, opinions, references (optional) ● Statement confirming fulfillment of the criteria set out in Art. 113 para. 1 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science ● Statement confirming acknowledgment of all competition terms and conditions. ● Statement declaring that the Academy will be the candidate's primary place of employment. ● Consent clause for job applicants at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. ● Description of experience related to organizing educational, design, or research activities; ● Certificate of no criminal record from the National Crimina
