Scientific Profile Initially the successful candidate starts as an Assistant Professor with a qualification agreement for a fixed term tenure phase of six years. After successful completion of the qualification goals, the position will be converted into a permanent Associate Professor position. The tenure-track professorship will strengthen the Inclusive Education research group and further develop the research area of social-emotional development. In addition to prevention, intervention and diagnostic approaches in the field of social-emotional development, the focus will be on researching innovative teaching and learning processes, with particular emphasis on inclusion, participation and mental health. The professorship is intended to expand our research in this area with regard to assistive technologies, the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and individual support using digital media for inclusion. This will further enhance the international visibility of the University of Graz in the field of Inclusive Education. This research focus represents an important link to the Centre for Empirical Research in Inclusion (CERI) and to the “Future Education” and “Heterogeneity and Cohesion” research networks. Employment Requirements Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD) in the field of education, psychology, sociology, or a closely related discipline considered equivalent for the position Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching in the relevant discipline and for the profile of the professorship (commensurate with stage of academic career and interruptions in employment due to caring responsibilities) Several years of experience as post-doc or in a similar position Excellent knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative empirical research methods Skills in attracting subject-specific project grants Skills in higher education didactics including the use of digital media Gender mainstreaming and diversity management skills Professional experience abroad during academic career is preferred Very good knowledge of German and English International experience in presenting papers and delivering lectures Selection Criteria The successful candidate will be highly motivated, aiming for academic excellence and integrity in research and teaching. He/she will have demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively in a responsible manner and inspire colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented context.
