JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: CICA - Centro Interdisciplinar de Química e Bioloxía Mondays to Fridays from 09:30 to 14:00 h and from 15:00 to 17:30 (35 h) The main tasks to be carried out, among others, will include: The hired person will join the FeMCa group ("Feeding Circuits and Cancer Mechanisms") at CICA, specifically under the supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. María Elena Rodríguez García-Rendueles, where they will conduct the necessary experiments for the advancement of the research project and support the organization and management of the laboratory. Specifically: • Use of cell and molecular biology techniques: -Maintenance and handling of primary cultures and cell lines. Preparation of culture media, maintenance of cell stocks in liquid nitrogen. -Performing cell growth and viability assays, as well as migration and invasion assays, which will involve the use of various inhibitors and drugs. -Extraction of DNA, RNA, and proteins. -Use of cloning, mutagenesis, transfection/infection, and bacterial transformation techniques. Gene silencing techniques (siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR...) or overexpression. -Sample staining via IHC and immunofluorescence. Use of microscopy. -Use of molecular techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, Real-time PCR, electrophoresis, and western blot. -In vivo experimentation: isolation of mouse primary cultures; xenografts.
