We currently have a job opening for a: Graduate Project Assistant (must hold a Diploma/Master's degree) for a full-time, three-year position Organizational unit: Institute of Signal Processing Entry date: 08/01/2026 Job Reference Number: 38200-2026-002031 We have an immediate opening for a PhD student researcher to join a cutting-edge research project conducted in cooperation with the Medical Faculty of JKU / Kepler University Clinic and the Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria (IT:U) in the field of Personalized Technical Medicine (PTM). The project focuses on neuromorphic computing for the prevention of decubitus (pressure sores) in bedridden patients using signals from pressure sensitive mats. The focus of this position is to research and prototype an embedded spiking neural network (SNN)-based system capable of efficient threshold-based data acquisition, pre-processing, and embedded SNN acceleration. The selected PhD student will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced researchers, closely collaborating with another PhD candidate who will focus on the data science, models and machine-learning aspects of the project.
