FEUP|DOCTORATE INITIAL LEVEL RESEARCHER POSITION|Projeto GREENSHIP_E - proposal 1501 Sintesi in italiano (traduzione automatica): L'Università di Porto (FEUP) ha aperto una procedura di selezione internazionale per reclutare un Ricercatore di livello iniziale per il progetto GREENSHIP_E, che si occupa dell'elettrificazione delle navi utilizzando combustibili verdi e tecnologie avanzate. Le mansioni includono lo sviluppo di soluzioni Smart MicroGrid e sistemi di gestione energetica basati su intelligenza artificiale, oltre alla preparazione di pubblicazioni scientifiche e rapporti tecnici. NOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF ONE (1) DOCTORATE INITIAL LEVEL 1. By decision of 15/06/2026, of the Director of FEUP, Professor Rui Artur Bártolo Calçada, it was resolved to open an international selection procedure for the recruitment of one (1) Doctorate Initial level within the framework of project GREENSHIP_E “Electrification of Ships Using Green Fuels and Advanced Technologies”, funded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, to carry out scientific research activities in the following areas: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Automation, Process Control, in the form of a Uncertain Term Employment Contract, by legal imperative, under the terms of paragraph b) of no. 1 of article 6 of RJEC, ex vi of no. 2 of article 18 of RJEC, and will be maintained only for the period necessary to execute the tasks defined in the project and identified below , with an expected duration of 12 months, and in any case not exceeding the maximum limit of six years. This recruitment aims the performance of activities corresponding to the category of Doctorate Initial level, as stated in article 8 of Regulation No. 487/2020, of May 22. The Doctorate Initial level, in abstract, is responsible for carrying out the activities foreseen in no. 2 of art. 7 of Regulation no. 487/2020, of May 22nd. More specifically, the recruited Doctorate Initial level will develop R&D activities within the GREENSHIP_E “Electrification of Ships Using Green Fuels and Advanced Technologies” project, contributing to applied research and technological development in the project’s areas of work, with the aim of producing scientific knowledge, developing innovative technological solutions, and promoting the transfer of knowledge to society and the business sector. The activities to be carried out include, in particular, participation in the following Work Packages: WP3: Development of Smart MicroGrid Solutions and AI-Driven Energy Management Systems (EMS) Task 3.1. Identification of ship microgrid architectures: Task 3.2. Integration of Renewable Energy Sources: Task 3.3. Advanced Control Strategies Task 3.4. Development of AI-Driven Energy Management System WP4: Demonstration and Validation Task 4.1. Validation of the developed solution(s) for the green fuel for on-board production and storage in ship demonstrators connected to the Fuel Cell optimized Stack Task 4.2. Demonstrating Smart Grid Solutions and AI-Driven EMS on Ships The researcher may also participate in the preparation of scientific publications and technical reports, in the development of prototypes and technological demonstrators, and in collaboration with academic and industrial partners within the scope of ongoing research project. 2. Applicable Legislation: Regulation nº 487/2020, of 22 May - Regulation of Research, Science and Technology Staff of the University of Porto and other applicable legislation namely the Labor Code, Law on 7/2009, of 12 February, in its current version, Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of 29 August, approving a regime for contracting doctorates to stimulate scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge (RJEC), in the wording introduced by the first amendment provided Law no. 57/2017, of July 19, Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, of December 29 and applicable regulatory standards.. 3. In the wording of article 16 of Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of 29 August, this procedure is exempted from the authorization of the members of the Government responsible for the areas of Finance and Public Administration, namely in paragraph no.3 of article 7 of the LTFP; from the prior favorable opinion of the members of the Government responsible for the areas of Finance and Public Administration as mentioned in no. 5 of article 30 of the LTFP and from the procedure for the recruitment of workers in the requalification situation referred to in Article 265 of the LTFP. 4.
