About the SnT The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character. The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust ( SnT ) at the University of Luxembourg is a leading international research and innovation centre in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services. We play an instrumental role in Europe by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent. We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications. The successful candidate will become a member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust within the Signal Processing and Communications Research Group ( SIGCOM ) under the supervision of Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas at the University of Luxembourg. Ever-evolving intelligent connectivity systems require increasingly efficient systems to transmit, analyze, and reconstruct high-quality data. The SIGCOM group at SnT conducts research aimed at designing, emulating, and testing new high-performance systems for the future of mobile and satellite communications. Fields of applications range from 6G telecommunications to satellite-based internet connectivity and quantum internet. The SIGCOM group works across the entire spectrum of blue-sky research and applied research to conceive future communication networks. Prospective researchers will find a large and vibrant team of over 100 members fostering a collaborative atmosphere. The group consistently publishes in top 10% venues, approaching 200 papers per year, supported by 60 running research projects. Your role Conduct research and technology transfer in the area of advanced and intelligent wireless communications networks, with emphasis in the next-generation 6G cellular networks and non-terrestrial components Have the potential to build/lead a research team within the SIGCOM Research Group at SnT SIGCOM conducts research in close collaboration with the industry/government partners and is engaged in a number of European/International projects. The candidate will contribute to the definition, acquisition, and management of research projects together with other faculty or as a principal investigator Supervise PhD students in relevant topics with other faculty or as principal supervisor Ensure continuity in the laboratory/experimental research activities, international visibility and recruitment efforts Design and deliver Bachelor and Master level classes in computer science, wireless communications and/or optical-quantum communications, in the Bachelor in Engineering, or at the Masters belonging to FSTM Faculté des Sciences, des Technologies et de Médecine The candidate detailed mission is to: Acquire, manage and contribute to research, innovations, and technology transfer activities with private and public partners Disseminate scientific results in top 10% conferences/journals Independently supervise PhD candidates and junior research associates Prepare and contribute to European and National research proposals to sustain the group's strategic research Your profile PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or other relevant field At least 4 years of PostDoc research experience in relevant research area(s). Documented research expertise in: next-generation wireless communications and networking paradigms, non-terrestrial communications, quantum and optical communications, edge computing, telecom artificial intelligence, multi-functional systems (communications, sensing, positioning, computing), antenna and beamforming design and practical validation of technologies in Lab environment Proven track record in carrying a leading role in
