Grant/funding period: START: 01/05/2024 END: 30/11/2027 Centre of Principal Researcher: CICA – Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology PURPOSE OF CONTRACT: Collaboration in the research agreement tasks described below. Technology Transfer Officer. JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: CICA – Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology. Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The “CICA – Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology” of the University of A Coruña (UDC) was accredited in 2024 as a Research Centre of the Galician University System (SUG), joining the CIGUS Network of the Xunta de Galicia as a centre of research excellence. CICA currently brings together 30 affiliated research groups and focuses on three strategic thematic areas: Biomedicine (BMed); Food, Pollution and Health (ACeS); and Nanoscience and Advanced Materials (NeMA). The centre’s accreditation and membership in the CIGUS Network of Galicia entail specific support and monitoring tasks, as well as a forward-looking positioning strategy, through which CICA will seek to ensure the continuity of its scientific excellence and its distinctiveness within the Galician research landscape. One of CICA’s key priorities in this new period will be the strengthening of its R&D management and transfer structure, making it more specialised and aligned with the management models of other leading research centres in its environment. CICA requires the recruitment of a person responsible for the centre’s knowledge and technology transfer activities, who will join the Management Office and contribute to strengthening the relationship between research and the socio-business environment. The profile sought is a professional with training and experience in areas related to the transfer of R&D results, preferably with a background in centres accredited by the Xunta de Galicia and familiarity with both the operational and strategic management of knowledge valorisation. The appointed officer will support the identification and valorisation of transferable results, the promotion of collaborations with companies, and the preparation and monitoring of transfer initiatives. In addition, they will provide direct support to the CICA Directorate in actions related to these areas. a) Main tasks include: • Identification of research results with transfer potential and guidance to research staff in defining valorisation pathways and possible protection mechanisms, in coordination with the UDC Technology Transfer Office (OTC). • Coordination with the Technology Transfer Office on matters related to the protection and exploitation of intellectual property generated at the centre, as well as monitoring of processes managed by external providers or specialised entities. • Identification of collaboration opportunities with companies and other ecosystem stakeholders, and organisation of meetings, visits and presentations aimed at strengthening science–industry connections. • Preparation of a catalogue of capabilities and services of the different research groups within the centre, aimed at knowledge and technology transfer, including, where required, technology sheets and other technical materials necessary for the promotion and dissemination of the centre’s capabilities, with support from the centre’s communication team. • Coordination of workshops and training activities on valorisation, knowledge transfer and collaboration wit Annuncio in inglese.
