CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR A RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP Refª: VinAE – BI-1 Portuguese version A call for tenders is now open for the attribution of one Research Scholarship within the scope of the Project “ VinAE- Vineyards network for co-creation and expansion of AgroEcological strategies to face viticulture challenges: a basis for cross-border livinglabs ” funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT), through national funds, under the 2024 call of the European Partnership on Agroecology, set out below. Scientific area: Biological Sciences Admission requirements: General requirements: Candidates for the Research grant must, at the date of application, be enrolled, or present a commitment to enroll in a study cycle conferring an ( Master) degree in Microbiology, Biology or related areas. Candidates for the research grant must hold a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology, or a related area. Specific requirements: Candidates must also have knowledge/research experience in the following areas:Microbiology Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a final classification of at least 14 (out of 20). Candidates must have proficiency of written and spoken English. Preferred Factors: Will be considered preferred factors: - Experience in research and/or field studies Work Plan: The work to be carried out by the candidate is part of a research project aimed at evaluating the agronomic, ecological, and social impacts of agroecological practices on grapevine productivity and soil health. The main activities will include: i) participation in the monitoring and sampling of the field trial, including soil and grape samples; ii) collection of agronomic and environmental data; iii) laboratory analyses to assess soil microbial activity, soil organic matter fractionation, and grape must quality attributes; and iv) assistance in the organization, analysis, and interpretation of the data generated throughout the project. Duration of the scholarship: The scholarship granted , on an exclusive dedication basis, will have a duration of 12 months, with an expected start date of September 1, 2026. The scholarship granted will automatically terminate upon the effective closure of the project (scheduled for March 31, 2028), should it occur before the aforementioned duration period expires. Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be the following: i) curriculum evaluation (50%); ii) previous experience (50%). If necessary, the 3 best positioned candidates may be interviewed, and in this situation, the weighting will be curricular evaluation (40%).; ii) previous experience (40%) and selection interview (20%). Only candidates with a final classification equal to or greater than 80 points, on a scale of 0 to 100, will be selected for this position.
