NOTICE NO. 56/2026 COMPETITION FOR THE AWARD OF A GRANT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE RESEARCH GRANT REGULATIONS OF UALG Title: 1 Research Fellowship - Bachelor's degree holder A competition is open for the award of 1 Research Fellowship - Bachelor's degree holder within the scope of the project ALGARVE-FEDER-03255800 - TIMELEAP - 26130, funded by PT2030-SIID - Business R&D - Co-promotion, under the following conditions: Scientific Area: Computer Science. Admission Requirements: Academic qualification: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering and Computer Technologies, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related areas, provided that it is accompanied by a demonstrable academic, technical or professional background in computer vision and in other areas relevant to the work plan. For admission and curricular evaluation purposes, proven skills in programming, preferably Python; machine learning and artificial intelligence; software development and integration; databases; technological prototyping; use of version control tools, cloud environments, containerisation or development pipelines; technical documentation; and analytical ability, autonomy and communication in an R&D team context are particularly relevant. It is mandatory to have oral and written technical-scientific proficiency in Portuguese, English and Dutch, at a minimum C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or equivalent, in each of them. This requirement arises from the need for technical communication with the UAlg team, with partners and interlocutors in the Netherlands, analysis of documentation and requirements in Portuguese, English and Dutch, and participation in working meetings. Failure to provide proof or sufficient demonstration of any of these language requirements constitutes grounds for exclusion. Taking into account paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 6 of the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology and paragraph 1 of Article 5 of the University of Algarve Research Grant Regulations: “1. Research grants, hereinafter referred to as RG, are intended for the performance of R&D activities by students enrolled in an integrated master’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral programme, aiming at the consolidation of their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the award of the respective academic degree, whether or not integrated into R&D projects. 2. The grants referred to in this article may also be intended for the performance of R&D activities by bachelor’s or master’s degree holders who are enrolled in non-degree courses integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.” Project Objectives: Exploration, prototyping, integration and validation of computer vision and AI methods applied to visual content and multimodal interaction in the context of 3D avatars, contributing to the team’s technical, experimental and documentation activities, in coordination with the consortium partners. Applicable Legislation and Regulations: Research Fellow Statute, approved by Law No. 40/2004 of August 18, as amended by Decree-Law No. 65/2024 of October 1, and the University of Algarve Research Grant Regulations.
