Call for the hiring of a Senior Technician in Engineering Job Offer: Senior Technician (part-time) Vacancies: 1 (one) Employer : COFAC / Lusófona University | RCM2+ Research Unit / Engineering Faculty Reference: TransferSIMS/01 Scientifc Ares: Engineering (Main Research Field); Management (Secondary Research Field) 1. OBJECT AND SCOPE A call is open for hiring 1 (one) part-time Senior Technician, within the scope of the project “TransferSIMS: transferência de tecnologia SIMS”, co-financed by the European Commission and COMPETE2030, under the following conditions: 2. CANDIDATE PROFILE Academic Background: i) Master degree in engineering or management; ii) enrolment in a doctoral program in engineering or management, with a focus on operations management or information systems. Skills: a) Specific expertise in Data Quality Management and Industry 5.0, with at least one scientific publication on the subjects in an international journal or conference proceedings (preferential factor). b) At least 2 years’ practical experience in a business environment. c) Solid experience in artificial intelligence; 3. ELIGIBILITY : a) The call aims to hire a senior technician in the form of part-time fixed-term employment contract. b) National, foreign, or stateless may apply. Under the terms of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August, and to ensure the application of the principle of equal treatment to candidates holding foreign and national academic degrees, it is mandatory to obtain the recognition of these degrees and the conversion of the respective final score to the Portuguese classification scale. The recognition of foreign academic degrees and diplomas, as well as the conversion of the final score to the Portuguese classification scale, should be available before the starting date of the position. CONTRACT INSTITUTION: COFAC - Cooperativa de Formação e Animação Cultural, Crl. 6. WORK PLAN : Research and development activities will be carried out within the TransferSIMS project, with a specific focus on Data Quality as a foundational component for Machine Learning and neural network models, supporting technology transfer and collaboration with external entities. 7. WORKPLACE AND SUPERVISION : Activities will take place at RCM2+ Research Unit / Engineering Faculty at Lusófona University, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator of the TransferSIMS project. 8. DURATION AND AMOUNT Duration: 12 months, starting in September 2026. Amount: The basic gross monthly salary amount is €299,4 corresponding to a 20% part-time employment, in accordance with level “Técnico Superior Índice 4” of the Single Remuneration Table (TRU) applicable in Portugal. Other Conditions: The position is established through a fixed-term, part-time (20%) employment contract, funded by the project, pursuant to the Portuguese Labour Code. 9. SELECTION METHODS Applications considered admissible will be scored on a scale of 1-10 in each of the following evaluation criteria: a) Suitability of the candidate’s academic background and professional/scientific track record to the competency profile and skills defined in point 2 of the call notice, as well as to the areas related to the project’s work plan (70%). b) Motivation and suitability for the position (20%); c) Reference Letters (10%).
