In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University announces opening of the following position with submission deadline September 24, 2026 Department offers a friendly working environment with offices at historical center of Prague (Czech Republic) at Lesser Town. The applicant is expected to obtain and lead research projects and to connect own research with teaching and supervising students. In justified cases, e.g., if the applicant completes his doctoral studies in the period between the submission of the application and the date of starting the employment relationship, the applicant must provide proof of the completed doctoral studies before signing the employment contract, but no later than 9 months after the application deadline. Candidates who progress to the second round of the selection procedure will be invited to an interview. The Committee may invite selected candidates to give a lecture to the academic community of the Faculty. Apply here Qualifications Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area by the starting date, awarded at most 8 years ago (excluding parental leave), fluent command of written and spoken English, research and teaching experience in a relevant field, positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to integrate research and teaching activities as well as supervise student theses, excellent publication record in impact journals and/or proceedings of prestigious computer science conferences in relevant fields, experience from foreign academic or research institutions. Some command of Czech is welcome though not required.
