Le posizioni sono suddivise in due aree scientifiche: Ingegneria Informatica ed Elettrica e Design, Scienze dello Sport, Salute, Psicologia e aree correlate. I candidati selezionati parteciperanno a progetti di ricerca su intelligenza artificiale applicata, salute digitale, sostenibilità e interazione uomo-computer. Le attività includono raccolta e analisi dati, sviluppo di prototipi e pubblicazioni scientifiche. È richiesta una laurea magistrale nelle aree pertinenti. La durata della borsa è di 12 mesi, rinnovabile fino a 24 mesi, con un compenso mensile di €1359,64. A call for applications is open for 10 (ten) Research Grants for 10 (ten) Doctoral Students, within the scope of the G[ai]A Project - Action and Logic for Adaptable Futures - refª M2030-FEDER-03051300, for a period of 12 months up to a maximum of 24 months, under the following conditions: I. Scientific Areas: • Reference A: Computer and Electrical Engineering (5 vacancies); • Reference B: Design, Sports Science, Health, Psychology or other related scientific areas (5 vacancies). II. Admission Requirements: • Doctoral students in the areas of Computer and Electrical Engineering (reference A) • Doctoral students in the areas of Design, Sports Science, Health, Psychology or other related scientific areas (Reference B). III. Work Plan: The fellows will join the research team of the G[ai]A-ALFA project — Action and Logic for Adaptable Futures, developing scientific research, technological development, and experimental validation activities in the areas of applied Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Digital Health, Design, Sustainability, and Human-Computer Interaction, in alignment with the project's strategic objectives. The activities to be developed fall under the following main scientific lines: A1 — Innovation in Digital Twins for Sustainable Energy Systems: development of digital twins, intelligent monitoring systems, predictive models, and decision support platforms applied to energy transition, energy communities, and sustainable urban and port infrastructures; A2 — Innovation in Health and Well-being for Resilience: development of digital solutions for health monitoring, active aging, assistive technologies, serious games, intelligent recommendation systems, and tools to support the promotion of health and well-being; A3 — Innovation in Interaction for Civic Readiness: development of participatory methodologies, interactive experiences, digital tools, and AI solutions geared towards digital literacy, civic engagement, sustainability, and community readiness; A4 — Ethical and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence: research in algorithmic transparency, explainable AI, bias mitigation, computational energy efficiency, and ethical and sustainable evaluation of developed systems. The fellows will participate in the following activities: - Data collection, processing, and analysis; - Development and validation of prototypes; - Conducting pilot studies and user testing; - Production of technical and scientific reports; - Preparation of scientific publications and conference presentations; - Scientific dissemination and knowledge transfer activities; - Advanced training and interdisciplinary collaboration. The work will be developed in close collaboration with the project team researchers and will directly contribute to the development of the doctoral theses of the scholarship recipients, within the scientific areas of the competition. IV. Applicable legislation and regulations: Statute of the Scientific Research Scholarship Holder in its current wording; Research Scholarship Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology I.P.; Research Scholarship Regulations of the University of Madeira. V. Workplace: The work will be carried out at the University of Madeira – Institute of Interactive Technologies - LARSyS, under the scientific guidance of Doctors Lucas Pereira, Élvio Rúbio Gouveia, Pedro Campos, Bruna Gouveia, Paulo Bala, Valentina Nisi, Nuno Nunes, Cíntia França. VI. Scholarship duration: the scholarship will last for 12 months, and may be renewed for a maximum of 24 months. VII. Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The scholarship amount corresponds to €1359.64, and is in accordance with the table of values ​​for scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal. VIII. Selection Method: Evaluation of Academic Record In the evaluation of academic record, the candidates' curricular performance is assessed according to the following weighting and criteria: a) Absolute merit of the Curriculum Vitae (50%) b Annuncio in inglese.
