A tender is open for the attribution of 1 Master Research Scholarship within the scope of the R&D project TWIN | Toy heritage as a Way to Innovation: Bridging Past and Future to Play NOVA.ID.FCT project (2024.13332. PEX), funded by national funds through the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. / MCTES, under the following conditions: Work Plan: The selected candidate will work on the exploratory project “Toy Heritage as a Way to Innovation: Bridging Past and Future to Play.” The work plan comprises the project activities related to research into the historical and economic context of tinplate toy production, including: • Collection and analysis of advertisements, catalogues and patents to identify design trends and developments in the materials used; • Mapping of the main production centres through the analysis of trade directories and the cross-referencing of this information with industrial reports; • Investigation of the role of the tinplate toy industry in the Portuguese economy, with particular emphasis on material recycling practices and interdependencies between industrial sectors; • Contextualisation of the Portuguese tinplate toy industry within the European market through the analysis of technological exchanges, labour dynamics and economic policies; • Preparation of reports on the scholarship holder's participation in the project activities. Workplace: The work will be carried out at NOVA School of Science and Technology. The activities may also include periods spent working in archives and libraries. Scientific supervision will be provided by Isabel Tissot, with NOVA.id.FCT – Association for Innovation and Development of FCT acting as the contracting entity. Fellowship duration: The duration of the research fellowship (not renewable) will be for 6 months, starting in September of 2026. Applications must be formalized mandatorily by e-mail to isabeltissot@fct.unl.pt , with the reference fellowship 2024.13332.PEX in the subject, and must include mandatorily the following documents: • Motivation letter; • Curriculum Vitae; • Documents proving that the candidate meets the conditions required for the award of the scholarship, namely a copy of the qualification certificates of all the academic degrees obtained; The following documents will be requested in the contracting phase: • Copy of passport and/or residence authorization (if applicable); • Copy of Portuguese IBAN; • Proof of enrolment in integrated master's degree, a master's degree, a doctorate, or a non-academic degree course integrated into an educational project at a higher education institution. • Proof of academic degrees and the respective recognitions when they have been awarded by foreign higher education institutions (if applicable).
