Le posizioni sono suddivise in due aree scientifiche: Ingegneria Informatica ed Elettrica e Design, Scienze dello Sport, Salute e Psicologia. I candidati devono essere studenti di Master in queste aree. I borsisti parteciperanno a ricerche applicate, sviluppo tecnologico e validazione sperimentale in intelligenza artificiale, salute digitale e sostenibilità. Le attività includono raccolta e analisi dati, sviluppo di prototipi e preparazione di rapporti scientifici. La borsa ha una durata di 12 mesi, con un compenso mensile di €1090.98. A call for applications is open for 4 (four) Research Grants for 4 (four) Master's students, within the scope of the G[ai]A Project - Action and Logic for Adaptable Futures - refª M2030-FEDER-03051300 (12 months), under the following conditions: I. Scientific Area: • Reference A: Computer and Electrical Engineering (2 vacancies); • Reference B: Design, Sports Science, Health and Psychology or other related scientific areas (2 vacancies). II. Admission Requirements: • Master's students in the areas of Computer and Electrical Engineering (Reference A) • Master's students in the areas of Design, Sports Science, Health, Psychology or other related scientific areas (Reference B). III. Work Plan: The fellows will join the research team of the G[ai]A-ALFA project — Action and Logic for Adaptable Futures, collaborating on applied research, technological development, and experimental validation activities in the areas of applied Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems, Digital Health, Design, Sustainability, and Human-Computer Interaction, in alignment with the scientific and technological objectives of the project. The activities to be developed fall within the following main scientific lines: • A1 — Innovation in Digital Twins for Sustainable Energy Systems: support for the development of digital twins, intelligent monitoring systems, predictive models, and decision support platforms applied to the energy transition, energy communities, and sustainable urban and port infrastructures; • A2 — Innovation in Health and Well-being for Resilience: collaboration in the development of digital solutions for health monitoring, active aging, assistive technologies, serious games, intelligent recommendation systems, and tools to support the promotion of health and well-being; • A3 — Innovation in Interaction for Civic Readiness: support for the development of participatory methodologies, interactive experiences, digital tools, and AI solutions geared towards digital literacy, civic engagement, sustainability, and community readiness; • A4 — Ethical and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence: collaboration in research activities related to algorithmic transparency, explainable AI, bias mitigation, computational energy efficiency, and ethical and sustainable evaluation of developed systems. Fellowship recipients will also participate in: • Data collection, processing, and analysis; • Development, implementation, and validation of prototypes; • Support for conducting pilot studies and user testing; • Preparation of technical and scientific reports; • Support for the production of scientific publications and communications; • Scientific dissemination and knowledge transfer activities; • Technical and scientific capacity building actions in a multidisciplinary context. The work will be developed in close collaboration with the project team researchers, contributing to the advanced training of the scholarship recipients and to the development of their respective master's dissertations in the scientific areas of the competition. IV. Applicable legislation and regulations: Statute of the Scientific Research Scholarship Recipient in its current wording; Research Scholarship Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology I.P.; Research Scholarship Regulations of the University of Madeira. V. Workplace: The work will be carried out at the University of Madeira – Institute of Interactive Technologies - LARSyS, under the scientific guidance of Doctors Lucas Pereira, Élvio Rúbio Gouveia, Pedro Campos, Bruna Gouveia, Paulo Bala, Valentina Nisi, Nuno Nunes and Cíntia França. VI. Scholarship duration: the scholarship will last for 12 months, and may be renewed for a maximum of 24 months. VII. Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The scholarship amount corresponds to €1090.98, and is in accordance with the table of values ​​for scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal. VIII.
