A competition is open for the attribution of 1 work contract vacancy to a doctorate Researcher in the framework of the project BIOPORTS Bioremediation systems exploiting synergies for improved removal of mixed pollutants, with reference COMPETE2030-FEDER-00894400, funded by FCT, I. P., COMPETE2030 and European Union under the GA_101060211, according to the following conditions: Scientific area : Biological Sciences / Environmental Sciences Admission requirements Hold a PhD in Aquatic Sciences; Technical and scientific knowledge on microbial communities diversity using molecular tools, namely NGS and bioinformatic pipelines; Experience in marine microbiome sampling techniques and laboratorial techniques. Experience in the isolation, preservation, and phenotypic and molecular characterization of microorganisms involved in the biodegradation of marine pollutants. Experience in the development of bioremediation and phytoremediation technologies for the recovery of coastal ecosystems. Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) who hold a doctorate degree in Aquatic Science and a scientific and professional curriculum whose profile is suited for the activity to be performed. In the event PhD/doctorate degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, the said degree must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16th August until the signature of the contract. Work plan : The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and validating bioremediation solutions for the ports of Leixões and Viana do Castelo, including the selection and characterisation of native microorganisms, the metagenomic analysis of their taxonomic and functional diversity, the formulation of microbial consortia, the assessment of biodegradation performance in microcosm and mesocosm experiments, the optimisation of biomass production and consortium immobilisation, and support for their integration into autonomous systems for pollution response. Legislation and official rules : Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of 29th August, which approved the doctorate hiring regime destined to stimulate scientific and technological employment for all knowledge areas (RJEC), updated by the Law no. 57/2017 of 19th July, Labour Code approved Law no. 7/2009 of 12th February, under its current reading and Regulatory Decree No. 11-A/2017, of 29th December. Work place : The work will be carried out at CIIMAR, Edifício do Terminal de Cruzeiros do Porto de Leixões, Av. General Norton de Matos, s/n, 4450-208 Matosinhos. Duration of the contract: An uncertain term work contract will be signed starting July 2023, under the regime of exclusivity, according to legal terms (articles n.º 140º, nº 1 and nº 2, h; and article n.º 148º, nº 4 − Labour Code and article 6º, nº 1 b) e nº 3 from Decree-Law n.º 57/2016, de 29 -8). Monthly salary : The gross monthly salary is 2.408,11€ (two thousand four hundred and eight euros and eleven cents) according to the Single Remuneration Table (level 33), referring to the initial level - Article 2 of Regulatory Decree No. 11 / A / 2017, of 29-12. Selection methods : The ranking of candidates will be performed by Curriculum Vitae evaluation based on: Relevant scientific experience: 60%; Merit of the CV in the scientific area: 40% The evaluation process may include an interview with the first three graders, which is intended to clarify aspects related to the results of their research, in which case the interview weighs 10% and the previous evaluation weighs 90%.
