Call for Research Grant Assignment The University of Coimbra opens a call for the assignment of a research grant, with one position(s), under the project 2024.17219.PEX, title “NASC4Railways - Noise Absorbing Sonic Crystals for Railway Noise Control”. The call is governed by this Notice of Opening, the University of Coimbra Research Grant Regulations (RBI-UC), subsidiarily by the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology (RBI-FCT), by the Research Fellow Statute (EBI), by the Norms for Grant Assignment and Management within R&D Projects, by the Code of Administrative Procedure (CPA), all in their current wording, and by other applicable national and community legislation. Procedure Reference: IT137-26-309 I - Legal admission requirements I.I - Grant Recipients: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, enrolled in a doctoral degree, in the scientific area of Civil Engineering. I.II - Ineligible candidates: Candidates who have already benefited from two research grant contracts with UC in the condition of being enrolled in a doctoral degree, regardless of whether each contract has reached the maximum legally permitted duration. II - Grant location: Departamento de Engenharia Civil, Universidade de Coimbra III- Scientific supervision/coordination of the grant: Luís Manuel Cortesão Godinho IV - Work Plan / Goals to be achieved: The proposed work plan includes activities directly integrated into the NASC4Railways project, with the aim of providing advanced training in laboratory and simulation components to the selected scholarship holder: conducting laboratory tests to characterize different porous concrete mixtures; collaborating in the definition of numerical simulation models; supporting the performance of parametric studies of the acoustic performance of solutions V - Initial grant duration: 6 months V.I - Renewal Possibility: Possibily renewable VI - Funding and financial conditions of the grant VI.I - Monthly grant amount (paid by bank transfer at the end of each month): 1.359,64€ VI.II - Other financial components of the grant: NA. The dissemination of research results funded under the RBI must comply with the open access standards for data, publications and other research results in force in the FCT. In all scholarships, and in particular in the case of actions supported by community funding, monitoring and control actions may be carried out by national and community bodies in accordance with applicable legislation in this matter, with supported scholarship holders being obliged to collaborate and provide the requested information, which includes carrying out surveys and evaluation studies in this area, even if the scholarship has already ended.
