Reference: REQUIMTE 2026-52 Scientific area: Pharmaceutical Sciences Scientific sub-area: Cell Biology and Pharmacology 1. The Board of REQUIMTE has resolved to open an international selection competition for doctorate holders to carry out research activities, under an uncertain-term employment contract pursuant to the Labour Code. This notice concerns the filling of one (1) position for the pursuit of scientific research activities within the project “The endoplasmic reticulum as a target for pharmacological interventions in proteinopathies”, funded by ERDF funds (COMPETE 2030) and by national funds through FCT/MECI, operation no. 15697, with reference COMPETE2030-FEDER-0067960, in the scientific areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences, sub-area of Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology, under an uncertain-term employment contract pursuant to the Labour Code, aimed at the development and evaluation of natural and semi-synthetic molecules with pharmacological activity at the level of the endoplasmic reticulum in the context of proteinopathies. 2. Applicable legislation Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of 29 August, amended by Law 57/2017 and Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, which approves a regime for hiring doctorate holders intended to stimulate scientific and technological employment across all areas of knowledge (Legal Regime for Scientific Employment - RJEC); the Labour Code, approved by Law no. 7/2009, of 12 February, in its current wording. 3. In accordance with article 13 of the RJEC, the competition jury has the following composition: Professor David Alexandre Micael Pereira, PhD, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (Chair of the jury by delegation of the Director of REQUIMTE); Professor Alberto da Nova Araújo, PhD, Associate Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, Member; and Professor Marcela Alves Segundo, PhD, Associate Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto, Member. 4. The workplace is located at FFUP. 5. The monthly remuneration to be paid shall be that provided for in article 23(3) of the RJEC, within the framework of Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, corresponding to level 33 of the single remuneration table (TRU), approved by Ordinance no. 1553-C/2008 of 31 December, amounting to 2,408.11 Euros. 6. Applicants — whether national, foreign or stateless — who hold the degree of doctor (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Biochemistry/Cell Biology or a related scientific field may apply to this competition, and who hold a scientific and professional curriculum revealing a profile suited to the activity to be carried out. Where the doctorate was conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the date of signing the employment contract. 7. The general requirements for admission to the competition are those defined in the previous point. 8. Pursuant to article 5 of the RJEC, selection is carried out through the assessment of the candidates' scientific and curricular path. 9. The assessment of the scientific and curricular path focuses on the relevance, quality and timeliness of: a) The scientific or technological output of the last five years considered most relevant by the candidate; b) The applied or practice-based research activities carried out over the last five years and considered by the candidate to be of greatest impact; c) The outreach and knowledge-dissemination activities carried out over the last five years, particularly in the context of promoting scientific culture and practices, considered by the candidate to be of greatest relevance; 10. The five-year period referred to in the previous point may be extended by the jury, at the candidate's request, where justified by a suspension of scientific activity for socially protected reasons, namely parental leave, prolonged serious illness, and other legally protected situ
